Kay Hankins, RN

Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center is the area’s first hospital to offer the services of a Women’s Health Navigator to help our patients navigate their care. From breast health to pelvic disorders, our navigator is available whether you are newly-diagnosed, in treatment, dealing with recurrence, or end-stage disease.

Kay Hankins and Patty Waldo

A Women’s Health Navigator guides patients through the health care system and the course of their treatment in several ways, including:

  • Facilitating communication with health professionals (physicians, counselors, nutritionists, and community-based support services.)
  • Coordinating services to streamline and accelerate treatments.
  • Providing emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Offering educational resources.

“As a Women’s Health Navigator I’m able to help women from the diagnosis of a disease to treatment and follow up. It’s very rewarding to help them coordinate their care and to be by their side.”
