Philosophy & Goal: We focus on the shared decision making model where staff have accountability and ownership of nursing quality, practice and development. My goal as Director is to empower staff to make decisions about these areas through unit-based councils. We enable this through a strong administrative commitment to growing this service line while other providers are closing it or keeping it status quo. We also offer the opportunity to be directly involved in the beginning of a complete redesign to make this the place of choice to work. Patient safety is our number one focus and we adhere to the AWHONN staffing guidelines.

Mission: Above all else, we are committed to serving the families in our community. Beginning at birth and continuing throughout their life span, we commit to provide high quality care, educations and support.

Vision: Gulf Coast Medical Center’s Women’s Centers’ vision is to be your healthcare partner for life.

Our style: Patient care that is family centered. We not only educate our patients but their families as well.

My management style: Participation, shared decision making model. I empower my staff and expect them to use their model to provide patient care.
