On Thursday, November 7, Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center broke ground for Panama City ER, its new freestanding emergency department slated to open in May of 2020. Located at 3711 U.S. Highway 231 in Panama City, the full-service emergency room will provide 24/7 care for both pediatric and adult patients.
The 10,820-square-foot facility is expected to serve more than 10,000 Bay County residents each year. The $11.5 million project will feature 11 private patient care rooms, a dedicated cardiac/respiratory resuscitation room, full hospital lab and diagnostic imaging services including X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound. Panama City ER will employ 30-fulltime staff and four emergency medicine physicians.
