For more than 30 years, Gulf Coast Medical Center has been the area’s choice for women and children’s services.  Our patients have access to the area's most comprehensive and up-to-date specialized-care programs in beautiful, family-centered surroundings.

The Women's Center

The Women's Center has 10 labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum suites, or LDR rooms, where a new mother-in-progress could remain in the same room during her hospital stay. The Women's Center provides a family-centered atmosphere designed to help fathers, siblings and grandparents learn to care for the family's newest addition.

Our experienced nurses and lactation consultants are also on hand to answer questions on a variety of topics ranging from breastfeeding to pediatric care. For women who've been identified to be at risk for perinatal and/or medical complications, the hospital opened the Fetal Testing Suite. There, expecting mothers have a comfortable and private room where a variety of outpatient fetal tests can be performed.

The Women's Center also features a Gynecology Unit to meet the special needs of women - from adolescence to menopause. Our nursing staff focuses on the personal care of each patient - doing everything possible to ensure physical and emotional comfort.

The Children's Center

The Children's Center is staffed by nurses trained in pediatrics to meet the unique needs of children. Like our nurseries, family-centered care is a primary emphasis at The Children's Center, and parents are encouraged to take an active part in the treatment and healing of their child. The Children's Center features private rooms, with toys and games available for all age groups, as well as a bed for parents.

Pediatric Specialty Units

Our 10-bed Pediatric Specialty Unit is the largest in the area.  Younger patients have access to a wide range of pediatric specialists including:
